Langford Bridge
Newton Abbot
Phase 2 & 3
Persimmon Homes South West will soon submit its application for the next phase of homes at Langford Bridge. The application will be for 86 zero carbon-ready homes, 17 of which will be for a local housing association. There will also be 16 self-build plots.

All of the properties on this phase will be equipped with air source heat pumps and electric vehicle charging points. Approval for the development will also trigger over £750k in CIL funding and over £2.35m in S106 contributions for local services. The plans also include a cycle path and pedestrian walkways, incentivising active travel in the area.
Phase One
Persimmon Homes South West has secured reserved matters approval for the development of 40 high-quality and sustainable new homes for local people in Newton Abbot.
The Langford Bridge site, situated on land off Kingskerswell Road, Newton Abbot is allocated within the local plan and has outline planning permission from the local authority for up to 450 new homes. Persimmon’s first phase application sits to the south of the site. It will be a no-gas site and the residential development will deliver a 10 per cent carbon reduction above Part L of the Building Regulations.
As part of our commitment to the local community, Persimmon is providing a ‘local homes guarantee’ which will see the majority of new homes at Langford Bridge ringfenced for eight weeks for local people to reserve during the launch months of each phase.
Throughout the planning process we have worked closely with officers and stakeholders at Teignbridge District Council, and the local community including businesses adjacent to the site.
